Brinon-sur-Beuvron

This modest county seat stretches along the Beuvron river which winds through prairies. Cultivation, breeding, and craftsmanship are the main local resources.
The château, built by the Raubutin family in the XVth century; XVIth century Saint- Etienne Church, and many ancient homes with their Mansart roofs bear witness to the past.

One must also mention Louis de Jaucourt, a native, who worked closely with Diderot on the XVIIIth century "Encyclopédie"; and closer to our times, Paul Faucher, who created the "Père Castor" children's albums (1943-1946).
